Darrelle Revis Joins OchoCinco on OCNN

Revis

He is the most dynamic shut down cover in the league and now Darrelle Revis is covering NFL news off the field by joining OchoCinco’s OCNN Network powered by Motorola.  In a tweet by the corner back, he made the announcement:

Revis24: OCNN NEWS: @OGOchocinco and I are rivals on the field, but now I’m on his team. The #OCNN team powered by Motorola

Revis24: OCNN News: I’ll provide blanket coverage OFF the field, like I do ON the field, starting with the #NFLDraft this week

His first assignment was announcing JT signing:

Revis24: Yes we have jason taylor its on now.

OchoCinco also made the announcement from his Twitter account about adding Revis to the team:

OGOchoCinco: OCNN NEWS When it comes to coverage, we got the best, welcome @revis24 to #OCNN. Anyone who can cover me like that deserves a job w OCNN

OGOchoCinco: OCNN NEWS #ocnn crew @gk_mccoy@revis24 will have all access to the #nfldraft, follow @ocnnfeed for all updates #makingmoves

So I had made a prediction weeks ago that the OCNN Network was going to eventually add a Jets player to their network.  Ever hear the phrase, “Right Church, Wrong Pew?”  That day Ocho announced draft prospect Gerald McCoy to the team.

I think Ocho was very smart to add Darrelle Revis.  He’s an upcoming player in the NFL.  If I had to guess what two Jets players were going to get this gig, it would have been between Nick Mangold and Darrelle Revis.

What does Revis Add to OCNN?

I love the fact that Revis is part of the OCNN.  As you are very well aware, this blog covers Jets players on Twitter.  You know Darrelle will be more active online giving us insight to news across the NFL from his perspective.

I love reading Jets news from the media, but social media sites give us that inside look into a players life.  OchoCinco puts it perfectly:

“The whole point is that fans see players on the news; they see their favorite athlete. We’re seen as these superstars that are God’s gift. I try to be that guy who’s like, I’m good at what I do, but I’m still human,” Ochocinco said. “I’m still just like you. I’ll get on twitter and I’m like ‘50 people meet me here. 100 people meet me at the movie theatre.’ I’m blessed. I’m put in the position to where I can play football and entertain millions of people week in and week out.”

Now we get to see more of one of our favorite Jets!
