Rex Ryan stood in front of his New York Jets Players last night in the final team meeting before the AFC Championship game today and told them they were better than the favored Colts.
One player described the meeting inside the team hotel to The Post as intense.
“[Ryan] was fired up,” the player said. “He talked about respect and how we still don’t get respect we deserve, that people still don’t think we belong here. Obviously they think they let us win last time.
Kerry Rhodes posted on Twitter after the meeting: ”Rex was fired up tonight. The disrespect card is BIG for us and we love it!”
“I noticed on the bus ride from the airport to the hotel it felt like the bus ride from the hotel to the game,” Plank said. “It felt like we were going to the game. There was a silence on that bus, a purpose. I thought, ‘This feels like we’re going to the stadium.’
“I’m sitting on the bus and I couldn’t believe the fans when we left and when we got here. If I had a helmet and uniform with me I was ready to go play right there off the bus.”
The scene was electric in and around the Westin Hotel downtown, with fans, wearing green of all sorts, milling everywhere and bursting into chants of “J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!”
My brother and I arrived in Indianapolis last night at 6pm and we were amazed on how electric the city was with the New York Jets Fans. On every turn, fans were coming up to us like we were long lost pals. Fans are so fired up, and I had heard that we have 20,000 faithful fans ready to attend the game.
DO NOT be surprised if you hear many Jets Chants coming in strong over your television! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!
