Kerry Rhodes recently tweeted about how he loved playing tennis as a youngster and that one of his idols was Andre Agassi. Agassi is making news because he has a book coming out called “Open”. The startling confession is, Andre confessed to using Cyrstal Meth during his career.
Kerry reminisced how he loved the epic battles between Agassi and Sampras. I never was a Tennis person myself, but I did know that those were the top guys in the game during that time in the 90’s.
In the upcoming issue of Sports Illustrated, an excerpt from Andre Agassi’s autobiography, Open, contains a startling confession: the tennis star used crystal meth during his career. This news comes courtesy of SI’s Richard Deitsch on Twitter. (The tweet, curiously, has since been deleted and we’re trying to find out what the cause for the deletion was. Guessing he let the cat out of the bag prematurely?)
After watching the video clip of the interview, I feel sorry for Andre as he stated that he HATED Tennis with a passion. This is another example of a youngster being pushed by their parents so they could live vicariously through their child. I’m glad to see that Andre has his life in order three years from retirement.
