Meghann CarrMeghann Carr, 17, will get her chance to show-off talents by singing the national anthem this Sunday October 18, 2009 before the Buffalo Bills game.

Meghann said she used social media to get the word out so people could vote on her, one of the final three  contestents left to make the final cut.

Carr notes:

“I told everyone I knew. I sent out e-mail lists and (used) Facebook. My friends told their friends and it spiraled into this big thing,” she said, noting that was the hardest part — waiting through the 10 days of online voting, never knowing what the counts were.

Meghann walked away with 47% of the votes and won the competition with a total of 130,000 votes.

This is a great example of a young smart individual leveraging technology to push her brand and already existing talents.

Jets fans, if you are going to be at the game, be sure to cheer extra loudly for this ambitious young talent.
